Any info on 2007? (e.g. When? Where?)
I’ve become involved in a couple of North Carolina Community Bike Projects and would like to meet with other groups interested in sharing ideas.

i’m organizing a bike to camping trip for the three days after bike bike!–may 29th through May 31st. the trip will be a 40+ mile ride from Milwaukee through the kettle moraine to the kettle moraine state forest southern unit–about half way between milwaukee and madison. a bunch of us did this trip last year, and are excited about doing it again this year with bike bike! folks.
thanks so much,

hi folks,
my name is zack furness and i’m a bike commuter/teacher from pittsburgh. recently, i finished my phd dissertation about bike culture and the politics of bicycling and i’m in the process of revising it into a book. in my book, i have a chapter about community cycling projects, which i wrote after doing a great deal of research and interviewing people in portland, pittsburgh, and various parts of the united states (via email). i’ll be attending the bikebike conference, and i am hoping to interview some people and collect as many materials as possible.
so…if any of you would be kind enough to let me interview you, or provide me with any publications/materials about your local community bike project, i would be very thankful. in the meantime, here’s a link to a pdf copy of my dissertation if you are interested in seeing what i’ve spent the last couple of years doing:

thanks for any help you can give me. i’ll see you in milwaukee!
take it easy,
zack
ps. email is the best way to reach me: zafst@pitt.edu

Well, it took us long enough, but we’ve got the schedule for bikebike including the time slots for all of the workshops up on the schedule page. If you’re leading a workshop, check to see if it’s listed and at the right time.
Also, the BOOP directory now has a page on the bikebike! site where it can be downloaded in .pdf format. We will try to keep this electronic version up to date as we receive changes.
Please send any changes to the BOOP or workshop schedule to:
sprocket@riseup.net
Also, please contact me if you would like to lead a workshop or discussion or if you are coming but your group is not listed on the main page.
See you all in Milwaukee!!!

Hey all,
who hoo hoo, Bike!Bike! is happening again.
So I have this totally crazy idea.
I am envisioning a mass ride of participants from Chicago to Milwaulkee. This is maybe on the order of 90 miles. That could happen in one day, but with a large number of people (and consequently lots of mechanical breakdowns/flats etc) and different riding abilities, bike styles etc; it makes sense (I believe) to make it a two day ride (say the 24th/25th) , that breaks down into smaller groups that meet for lunch and camping. Obviously, this is all up for consensing on. I am up for trying to coordinate some of the logistics. I think a somewhat mellow ride like this could serve to help solidify connections among different groups and lead to more time for informal discussions, without being so long as to bring up a quagmire of logistical nightmares. Let me know what people think here.
